School Council

We are very proud of our school council, who take their roles and responsibilities seriously. These pupils bring queries, suggestions or important information to the weekly meetings so that decisions can be made.

The Children’s Voice

At Lee Mount Primary School, the school council gives all children a meaningful voice. At the start of the year, each class elects a school council representative. This person becomes the ‘voice’ for the class, representing their class at school council meetings to talk over important whole-school issues.

The school council makes decisions on a range of issues. They have given useful feedback on how to improve playtime provision, and through their system of ‘Playtime Buddy’ they are trying to make sure that everyone feels happy and well looked-after at playtimes. As a result, and at the request of the children, additional playtime equipment is available during break times and lunchtime. We will also soon be launching the new ‘Game Stations’ around the playground to help all children play together happily.

School council regularly become involved in fundraising projects in the school, and with Comic Relief on the horizon, be sure to look out for the exciting ideas they have!
