Lee Mount Primary School is a medium sized, co-educational community primary school in Halifax for day pupils. The school is sited in Lee Mount adjacent to Shroggs Park. The main buildings are about 120 years old and the Nursery Unit was added in 1977. In total there are 15 classrooms, 2 halls, a group room, library and computing suite. School staff are working closely with the Local Authority and Governors to ensure that the building is continually improved and meets the demands of our pupils, providing an appropriate environment to support our children's education.

We have an intake of 50 pupils per year group, with pupils organised into single age classes, by year group; this means pupils are usually in classes of approximately 25. The Reception classes are taught in a unit of 50 pupils with two class teachers and the Nursery has 20 morning places and 20 afternoon places.

The school offers a breakfast and after school provision. School is open to all children from 8:30am - 3.05pm (Early Years & KS1) and 8.40am - 3.15pm (KS2). This amounts to 32 hours and 55 minutes in a typical week.

The school has a large staff of teachers, teaching assistants and other support staff, all of whom are here to ensure your children get the best of their time at Lee Mount.

The school has good play space, including an adventure playground and two enclosed ball courts. The Nursery and Reception classes also have access to good sized outdoor environments which are used throughout the day. We use Shroggs Park for PE lessons, games, special events and as a base for studies.

The school runs a wide range of extra-curriculum clubs and activities each year and our curriculum includes a number of educational visits, visitors, experience days and special activities; all of which enrich and broaden our curriculum. Our pupils love to learn and enjoy all the experiences on offer.

Throughout the year we hold a number of formal and informal events for parents, carers and the community to get involve with the school. As our internal space is limited, we also make use of local community venues such as Lee Mount Baptist Church.

Prospective parents are always welcome to visit our school and have a look at what we have to offer. Please make an appointment through the school office.

Our website has lots of information about different aspects of school, but if you can’t find what you are looking for, please get in touch.
