Welcome to Year 3

We hope you've all enjoyed the half term break and are ready for the term ahead.

During the Spring term year 3 will be learning all about Polar bears and their natural habitat. We are focusing on Canada during Topic work and making comparisons with our local area.

On Thursday 7th March we celebrate 'World Book Day'. We look forward to seeing you dressed up as your favourite character from a book.

For more information please see our newsletter on the left-hand side.

Brigantium

Our Year 3 classes are learning all about the Romans. As part of our topic we all went on a fantastic trip to Brigantium in York. The children had a wonderful time learning all about the Roman army and finding out what life was really like in Roman times. We all had the opportunity to dress up as Roman soldiers and take part in many fun activities throughout the day including; making clay pots, writing roman numerals and using a sword! It was a super introduction to our topic and it has inspired our children to produce some excellent pieces of work back in the classroom.

Autumn Term

Year 3 are going to visit Bolton Abbey and do some follow-up work as part of getting to know each other.

We will learn all about the Romans, develop our mathematical skills and write for different purposes, including stories, poems and a newspaper article.

Please remember to bring book bags regularly to change reading books and to do the homework which is given out.
