Our school is part of the North Halifax Cluster, which follow the teaching strategies outlined in this document. To find out more please download the document below.
Our topic this half term is animals. We will be learning about minibeasts, pets, farm animals and wild animals and their babies. We will find out about different habitats that animals live in. Our role play is the pet shop and the veterinary surgery.
We have finished learning all of our single sounds now, I’m sure that the children have been singing the Jolly Phonics songs to you at home. Please point out letters in the environment and ask your children to show you the action. Keep working on writing names.
The children are currently interested in counting to 100 and naming and describing 2D and 3D shapes. Again, if you can point these out at home, that would be great. How about a shape hunt around the house?
