Autumn Newsletter (Coming Soon)
We extend a warm welcome to our new children and their families starting Nursery with us here at Lee Mount in September 2017.
We hope that you have enjoyed a smooth transition to school and we would like to remind you that if you have any issues or concerns whatsoever then please come in and speak with either your child’s key person or the class teacher Miss Beswick at your earliest convenience.
This term we will be focusing on getting the children settled and into the daily routines of Nursery school. We will start weekly PE sessions after half term but your child does not need a PE kit for this. We will also have weekly visits to the school library for stories, song and rhyme time, the children will also chose their own books to take back to Nursery.
Your child will be provided with lots of fresh drinking water, milk and fruit during each session. We will start making our own food for ‘Treat snack Friday’ which is decided and prepared by the children.
The children will have access to the outdoor areas in all weathers (unless unsuitable). We have a number of all-in-one suits to protect children’s clothing but if you could send wellies in with your child, particularly on wet days it would be greatly appreciated. We do have an outdoor digging area and mud kitchen and it can get messy but we will always do our best to remind children about suits, aprons and wellies.
Please ensure that you send a spare set of clothes for your child to keep in school in case of accidents, spills and splashes. Again, we remind children to wear aprons in water, paint and messy play but sometimes spills can’t be avoided.
A newsletter will be sent home every half term and if you have any queries about your child’s learning and development then please speak with Nursery staff who will be happy to share information with you.
For more information please see our newsletter on the left-hand side.
